Diamond Racing was formed in June 1994 by three people: George Goodwin, Steve Goodwin and George Leonidas. They were pioneers at the time, with the ambition of bringing both genuine racehorse ownership and professional betting expertise to the racing enthusiast. They developed the slogan

George Leonidas subsequently left the company to pursue other business interests whilst George Goodwin sadly passed away in 2007. Steve Goodwin is the only founder member left but continues at the helm ably supported by racing manager Christian Morgan who has been with Diamond Racing since May 2005.
Diamond Racing felt getting involved in racing as an owner was out of reach for many people when it didn't need to be. Racing Clubs were too impersonal and did not offer enough involvement, whilst many partnerships were too costly to get involved with or run by organisations that were financially unsound. Diamond Racing was the first organisation to bring the affordable syndicate concept to racehorse owners. Diamond Racing's fine reputation is based on loyalty, integrity and honesty in all their dealings.
Sixteen years on and Diamond Racing have become a force in racing to be respected. With the famous green and black colours visiting the winner's enclosure on 156 occasions and having 320+ placed horses, Diamond Racing have proved they are here to stay!
The team and the owners have enjoyed many famous successes including: Diamond Max winning a Listed race at Longchamp in 2001 and Diamond Joshua finishing third in the Triumph Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival in 2002. Other Black type successes were spread amongst them with the latest occurring in October 2006 when Lady Lily finished 3rd in a listed race.
2006 saw two milestones for Diamond Racing when they had their 100th winner with Ionian Spring, and finished a remarkable 10th in the owners table for number of winners on the flat. 23 winners in the year put them up alongside names as Godolphin in the top ten rankings.
Over the years Diamond Racing has built up a strong social base, with owners traveling together to racecourses all over the UK and abroad. Owners have been able to watch their horses run all over Europe including Rome , Malmo , Mijas, Longchamp, St Cloud and Craon. |
