In 2005 Henry Cecil trained his 3,000th domestic winner, another major achievement in the career of one of the greatest trainers of all time. However this is merely decoration on a career that needs no further embellishment.

2007 saw the return of Henry Cecil to the top of the domestic scene when training "LIGHT SHIFT" to win the 2007 Oaks at Epsom.

Warren Place, the training yard and home of Henry has seen Champions emerge with monotonous regularity. Based in the heart of the historic racing town of Newmarket, Warren Place is on the doorstep of the finest facilities in the world.

Henry has been training horses for 36 years and does not view training as a job, more as a way of life. The Cecil horses benefit from a high degree of personal care and are treated with patience and consideration. It is clear to see when visiting Warren Place that Henry and his team of loyal staff have a genuine love for their horses.

Cecil has sent out 23 domestic Classic winners and 11 in Ireland and France, 70 winners at Royal Ascot and numerous Group winners. Even as recently as 1999, Cecil dominated the classics winning the 1000 Guineas, Oaks and Derby with Wince, Ramruna and Oath respectively.

These brilliant successes and great horses such as: Slip Anchor (1985 Derby), Reference Point (1987 Derby and St Leger), Bosra Sham (1996 1,000 Guineas), Lady Carla (1996 Oaks) Sleepytime (1997 1,000 Guineas) and multiple classic winners such as Oh So Sharp (1985 1,000 Guineas, Oaks and St Leger) all contributed to bring him nine trainers titles in fifteen seasons, including his best season in 1987, when he trained 180 winners and won seven races at Royal Ascot as well as the Derby, St Leger and King George with Reference Point. The names of some of these horses have passed into legend alongside their trainer.
